Good advice gets us started on Monday morning

Site managers, Nancy and Neil Miller, brought us breakfast this morning at Noelridge Christian Church where we are staying, and got us off to a good start with the most important words to remember on a work trip:

Safety. Sensitivity. Spirituality. And, Flexibility.

I think we followed all 4 today at our two different worksites. No one got hurt. We were sensitive to the emotions, needs, and wishes of our church hosts and the homeowners of the houses we worked in. We accepted that we are here by the grace of God, and doing God's work. And, critical to any work trip -- we were flexible in accepting our job assignments, working together, learning new skills, etc.

It was a great day, and we're awaiting dinner that's coming soon, courtesy of the work trip cook, Trish Burton. Joining us at dinner are our new friends from Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, and Virginia -- other Disciples coming to join in the clean-up and rebuilding work.
More later -- that meatloaf smells too good after a long work day -- but in the meantime, here are a few pictures of the day.
Blessings -
Pastor Kris
